Classes in the Library
Classes on database searching and Catalog instruction are taught each semester for UF faculty, staff, and students. These classes can help to improve your Library and information searching skills. Some classes are taught through course-integrated instruction while others are offered for the whole UF community. Find a class that's right for you on our Calendar of Classes, and then use our online form to register. For further information or to arrange to have a class integrated into your curriculum, please call the Reference Department at .

The Collection
The HSC Libraries' collection supports instruction and research for the six HSC colleges. The Collection Management department orders all formats of materials and evaluates the quality and use of the materials received. Suggest an item to be purchased for the collection.

Computers in the Informatics Lab
The HSC Libraries provide public access to electronic resources in the Informatics Lab, located on the second floor. The staffed computer facility offers access to electronic databases, the Internet, GatorLink services, and office productivity applications (e.g., Word, Access) for HSC faculty, staff, and students. You may only utilize applications that are installed in the lab; there are no computers available for running personal applications, CD-ROMs, etc. Laser printing is available with a Xerox copy card. For requests submitted via our paper form, the charge is $5.00 per item. For requests submitted electronically using Loansome Doc, go here

Internet Access to Library Resources
The HSC Libraries can be accessed via the Internet 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Many resources are available through our home page, such as databases, e-journals, and service information. While in the library, use any one of our 62 public access computers to connect to the Internet. From home or office, visit our website to access library resources. If you need some help connecting from outside the library, please read our Access Guide.

Liaison Librarians
Since 1999, the HSC Libraries have maintained a Liaison Librarian Program to facilitate a partnership between the Libraries and the Health Science Center colleges to support learning, research and clinical care. Liaisons provide a range of services, including reference help, assistance locating materials, receiving requests for new purchases, and collaborating on course-integrated instruction.
