Services for UF Affiliates
UF faculty, staff and students may submit requests via a web or via Loansome Doc form. To avoid unnecessary charges, UF patrons should check the UF Libraries' Catalog to determine if the item is available electronically. In addition to our in-house services, the UF HSC Libraries provide Loansome Doc through the National Library of Medicine/PubMed. To receive UF rates, you must use your UFL.EDU email address.

Interlibrary Loan
Occasionally faculty staff and students need materials which are not available in the HSC Library collection and not available at another library on campus. When this occurs, library clients may request that the item be obtained from another library though Interlibrary Loan. Health Science Center Library obtains books and articles for UF Faculty, staff and students from a non-UF library at no charge. For materials not available in the University of Florida Libraries, delivery times vary depending on the library supplying the documents. The average time is 2 to 3 days for articles, 7 to 10 days for books.

Materials in Other Libraries On UF Campus
When the material (journal article or monograph) is available elsewhere on campus, faculty, staff and students must borrow the item directly from the campus library which owns the item by going to that location and checking out or photocopying the material.  Material may be returned at any UF libraries’ location.

Request- a- Copy (formerly Document Delivery)
The Health Science Center Library provides a convenience copy service for UF faculty, staff and students to obtain items that are in the onsite HSCL collection. The charge is $5.00 per article.  The usual response time is less than 2 working days.  Alternately, patrons may photocopy materials in the library. Photocopiers are present on all floors.

To avoid unnecessary charges, UF patrons should check the UF Libraries' Catalog to determine if the item is available electronically.

Services for Non UF patrons
Non-UF patrons may request articles found in the HSC Library. To save time, Non-UF patrons should check the UF Libraries' Catalog prior to submitting a request. Orders placed for items we do not carry will be rejected. Patrons who request items often should use the Loansome Doc service. Loansome Doc is the only way to request articles not housed in this library.
