Ellie's first assignment at the University of Florida was in
the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering where she
worked with professors, research assistants and post-doctoral
students. Upon receiving her library degree she joined the University
of Florida's HSC Libraries' Reference staff as a Visiting Assistant
University Librarian.
Ellie has worked in a varied assortment of environments. Each
assignment afforded her opportunities to find information on topics
such as current and pending state environmental legislation, trends
in the biomedical industry, and energy use patterns in the United
States.

Why I Wanted to Become a Librarian
"I knew becoming a professional librarian was the next logical
step in my career path. Every position I've held in my working
life has drawn upon my penchant for finding solutions to questions.
I think it's because I enjoy mysteries, puzzles and untying knots
that information retrieval is so much fun for me. Searching for
everything from obscure trivia to original research on a medical
condition fascinates me. Sometimes I challenge myself to look
for information in new and different ways to save time and steps." |
