The Secret of Life
~ James D. Watson with Andrew Berry
Jim Watson, together with Francis Crick, revolutionized our understanding
of molecular biology through the elucidation of the structure of DNA. This resulted in an unparalleled half century of discovery leading to the new biology, with its magnificent promises of advances in agriculture and health care (some of which have already been realized). This book, which can be appreciated by nonscientists, is a superb description of our understanding of molecular genetics and its current applications.
I must admit a certain bias since Watson was my teacher as a Harvard
undergraduate . . .
