• Keyword

    This is the default search. It looks for exact matches to words entered. Results will contain the keyword(s) entered; however, not every record may be related to the concept you're searching.
  • Publications

    Publications can be searched in two ways: You can browse by scrolling up & down the list or you can enter a title into the search box.
  • CINAHL Headings

    CINAHL Headings increases the relevancy of citations located by the search. It also allows you to be more precise in your search.
  • Cited References

    Cited References allows you to identify articles that have cited a particular article or author. This can be useful in identifying articles on a similar topic.
  • More

    More allows you to search some of the less commonly used indexes or fields used in the database.
  • Sign In to My EBSCOhost

    This feature allows you to save your searches or search strategies and move them into folders that can be accessed remotely . Use of this service requires account registration and user name and password creation.
  • Folder

    Folder provides temporary storage for selected citations for the duration of the session. These citations can be printed, emailed, saved, or downloaded to a bibliographic management program.
  • New Features

    This section includes information about database changes and enhancements.
  • Help

    Help provides access to assistance with the EBSCO interface. Help can be keyword searched or viewed by contents or topics.
  • Search

    Click the Search button to activate your search.
  • Clear

    The Clear button removes the terms that were entered into Suggest Subject Terms box(es).
  • Choose Databases

    This option displays a listing of the other EBSCO databases that your institution has purchased. Use this method to select and change to another database for searching.
  • Preferences

    This option allows customization of the display format (i.e., title only, brief, or detailed), as well as the number of citations displayed per screen.
  • Visual Search

    This option allows you to display your search results in an interactive visual map in either blocks or columns.
  • Advanced Search

    The Advanced Search option allows you to enter multiple search terms simultaneously and to specify which field is to be searched. AND, OR, and NOT can be selected for each term.
  • Search History/Alerts

    Search History/Alerts stores a record of each search performed in the advanced mode search session. Previous searches can be re-run, revised, or the results can be reviewed. You can also combine searches to develop more complex search strategies. This is also a pathway to connect to My EBSCOHost.
  • ?

    Select the "?" icon and help for the screen that you're currently on will be displayed.
  • Searching

    This lets you know which database(s) are being searched.
