MEDLINE and OLDMEDLINE

• MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences
• The MEDLINE file contains approximately 15 million records dating back to the mid-1950's
• The MEDLINE file contains bibliographic citations and author abstracts from over 4,800 current biomedical journals
• OLDMEDLINE contains citations from journals dating 1951-1965. These citations do not contain MeSH terms nor abstracts
