Basic Search Strategy

  • Pick a search topic: for example, are flu shots beneficial to the elderly?
  • Divide topic into concepts
  • Find words (keywords) and/or subject headings (MeSH) to represent these concepts
  • Combine concepts with AND, OR, or NOT
